On-the-Water Safety Reminders

If rowing before sunup, you must maintain adequate lights on your boat and/or person to be visible to other rowers,so everyone should have his or her own bike or LED light or two. This is a requirement for club owned shells and for private shells. There are bow card lights on or around the fuel cabinet for club use. Scullers who row before sunup are encouraged to own and maintain their own personal lights. Also, in order to ensure safety, we're all going to have to remain strict about the clock-wise traffic pattern on the lake. If there's only one good shoreline of water, and you need to go back and forth on it, always stay in a clockwise pattern and loop around on the inside of the lake, at least 200 feet off the shoreline, and look behind you frequently.
