ORC Spring Fling: Home of the 4th annual Florida Masters Regatta

The 4th Annual Florida Masters Regatta will be hosted by the Orlando Rowing Club this May 14th and will make for a great day of master's and open racing. The venue will be Lake Fairview Park in Orlando where spectators and teams are able to watch the races with tent set-up just a few meters from the course.



General Information:

The ORC spring fling: home of the Florida Masters Regatta is for all in the Southeast who are looking for a great day of fun and masters/open racing with six buoyed lanes and stake boats at Lake Fairview Park in Orlando, Florida. This year's event will be more than just racing. Orlando Rowing Club will be hosting a community event that is fun for the whole family. While races are flying down the course, there will be entertainment by local artists, music, and lots of fun! Be sure to check out our kids' area with face painting and a special appearance from Amazing Animals, Inc.! On top of all that, a portion of each entry fee will go towards a donation to Women Playing for TIME, an organization striving to defeat cancer as it affects women. This will truly be an event that stands out among the rest!

-Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded regardless of number of entries for each event
-T-shirts are included in entry fee for competitors. Regatta shirts will be available for purchase at racecourse.
-Entertainment for the whole family (even if you aren't racing!)
-Learn more about health and wellness by talking with our friends from Orlando Health.
-Food vendors on site
-Give back to the Central Florida community! A percentage of every entry goes towards Women Playing For T.I.M.E.

Dates & Deadlines:

Registration is currently available through www.RegattaCentral.com and closes May 9th.

Heat sheet posted/sent May 12th

Waivers and Payments received by May 13th to P0 Box 547802, Orlando, FL 32854. The US Rowing Waiver can also be submitted electronically through www.RegattaCentral.com.

Entry Fees:

$35 per person for unlimited racing. Entry fee also includes a regatta t-shirt.

Scratch fee is $35 past registration deadline.
Late Entries add $10 past May 9th

Rules:

Masters are rowers who are at least 21 years of age this calendar year. Crews that use younger athletes are encouraged to enter in the Open events, although it's not mandatory. Handicaps will be given based on the average age of the crew.

Coxswains may be any age, and female coxswains will be permitted in men's crews and vice versa. There is no minimum weight for coxswains.

For men's events, female rowers shall be permitted.

In mixed crew events half of the crew, excluding the coxswain, shall be women and half men.

(The park will be open until 7pm on Friday for tent and trailer set-up.)
